Programmatic Ads

Programmatic ads are automatically inserted advertisements placed within podcast episodes based on available ad campaigns and listener profiles.

These ads offer an opportunity to earn passive income from your podcast without the need to secure direct sponsors.

Projected revenue

*Please note that the example is for an entirely United States / English speaking countries audience of the commercials. For foreign listeners of the episodes and the corresponding commercials to them, the revenues are different.

A podcaster with 100K monthly downloads/listens and 4-8 ads per episode can earn between $960 and $11,200 per month from programmatic ads alone, depending on CPM, fill rate, and number of ads per download.

A podcaster with 100K monthly downloads/listens and 4-8 ads per episode can earn between $480 and $5,600 per month from programmatic ads alone, depending on CPM, fill rate, and number of ads per download.


Baked-in Ads / Private Sponsorships

Baked-in Ads

Baked-in ads are advertisements that are embedded directly into the audio file of your podcast episode and remain there permanently.
They can be read by the host or inserted as separate audio clips. This is a great way for long-term brand positioning, as the ad will be heard in all future listens of the episode.

Private sponsorships allow you to include ads and promotions in your episodes when you have direct advertisers.
This can include product mentions, interviews with the sponsor, or exclusive offers for your listeners.


Sponsorship Deals on Paper Reads

Paper Reads offers host-read sponsorship deals, where podcasters record and integrate ads directly into their episodes.
These types of ads are typically more lucrative than programmatic ones because they are more engaging and personalized.

When Are Sponsorship Deals Available?

Sponsorship deals on Paper Reads are not automatically available for every podcast. Podcasters may receive offers from advertisers if:

  • They have a stable and engaged audience.
  • Their content aligns with the interests of advertisers.
  • They are subscribed to the Eagle podcast plan, which automatically includes them in the curated list of podcasts recommended to advertisers.
  • In special cases, even podcasts on lower-tier plans might receive such offers if an advertiser is specifically interested in working with them.

Payments

And best of all—all payments are processed between the 15th and 20th of the following month, with no minimum payout threshold!

So, if you earned $XXX in April, you can expect to receive your payment between May 15th and 20th.
